Stob Coire Sgreamhach is the lower of the two Munros on the Bidean nam Bian massif. The two Munros are only seperated by some three-quarters of a mile, an ascent of both from Glen Coe is one of many classic walks in this area. Easily reached from Glen Coe, this is an accessible mountain as well.
An interesting historical belief regarding Bidean is that one of it's Glens, Coire Gabhail was used by Clan Macdonald to hide cattle. From Glen Coe, Coire Gabhail looks like a narrow gorge, but as you traverse up the gorge you come out in a huge open valley, consequently known as the Hidden or Lost valley.
