Cairn Bannoch

Location:NO222825
Height:1012 m
3320 ft
Cairn Bannoch along with it's nearest neighbour Broad Cairn, forms the Southern end of the Lochnagar range. The summit plateau of Cairn Bannoch is reasonably wide and open with a couple of subsidiary summits, so a little bit of care will be needed in poor visibility. It is reasonable to combine this mountain with the rest of the Lochnagar range, but that makes for a long day out in the hills. The normal route is to combine this mountain along with Broad Cairn from Glen Muick to make a more reasonable day walk.
